Brachychiton populneus also known as Bottle Tree,  Black Kurrajong,White-flower Kurrajong ,Northern Kurrajong,  is a small to medium-sized tree occurring naturally in Australia in a range of environments from moister coastal to semi-arid Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland interiors. The expanded trunk is a tool for survival in moist, dry environment. Bell-shaped bulbs vary in color (pale to pink), while leaves differ considerably in form. The leaves seem to be either plain and pointed, or 3-9 lobed. Saplings grow from drought-resistant tap-rooted tuber.
