The flowers are fragrant, waxy, white, 2 centimeter wide, jasmine-like, born in the end or axillary cymes, 10 centimeter long, in late spring; they will follow the flowers like a plum, ovoid ellipsoid, red to purple and black, 2-3 centimeter in ength. Height 0.5 to 1 meter or higher and 1 m or higher spread. Originally from S. Africa. Different cultivars were selected, including Fancy, which is upright and highly blooming with gloss, deep green leaves and orange- and Tuttlei that is dwarf, semi-, and dense, and helpful for ground or pots.
