Description
Cycas revoluta (Japanese Sago Palm, King Sago Palm, Sago Cycas, Sago Palm) is a rugged cycad that is first erect but gradually relapsed with age and, when mature, suckering and branching. The 0.75 to 1.5 m long arching leaves are pinnate, with up to 125 sickle-shaped, brilliant, deep green leaflets. Ovoid, wooly, brown golden inflorescences on mature plants are produced, but rarely in containers. The male inflorescences, 40 cm in length, having pineapple-scent; the 20 centimeter long females contain ovoid yellow fruit, 3-4 cm in length. High 1-2 m or higher, 1-2 m or higher. Originally from Japan.
