Jacaranda mimosifolia also known as Brazilian Rose Wood, Green Ebony is largely spread, leathery tree with large, 25-45 cm long 2-pinnate leaves, composed by many thin, narrowly elliptical leaves, and softly hairy, bright mid-green leaflets. From the spring to the start of summer, large pyramids are borne on leafless trees or young foliage with a length of 20- cm, white throated, bright purple- flowers, 3,5- 5 cm long. The wooden, disc-shaped seed covers are assisted by flowers.
