Description

Jasminum sambac (Sacred Jasmine, Asian Jasmine, Asiatic Jasmine, Pikake, Arabian jasmine) is an upright shrub or climber, has ability to remain as evergreen shrub with branches up to 3 meters in length that rooted on nodes. This plant is widely grown in the tropical areas, especially in India and neighboring regions of China and Southeast Asia. It is loved and admired for its very scented fragrance, white flowers mostly used for decoration; the oil extracted from the flowers and its been used as a condiment; and also for medicinal purpose. It is typically cultivated in tropical and subtropical climates as an ornamental.
