Description Livistona decipiens (Ribbon Palm, Fountain Palm, Weeping Cabbage Palm) This palm is a graceful magnificence, tall and thin. The symmetrical crown is nearly spherical and has a flat-facing base that usually exceeds 30 feet in height. The leaves of costapalmate grows to 9 foot long and stay on 6 foot long stem. Costapalmate indicates that the leaves are halfway between palmate (shaped like the palm of your hand) and flat (father-shaped). The long (4 to 5 feet) pliant segments of Livistona Decipiens are 3/4 inches broad. Around 80 segments radiate from the stem hanging towards the ground like responsive ribbons.This plants is influenced by the traditional name ribbon palm. Flowers are yellow and grow on a 4-foot inflorescence concealed between the stems. The tiny black fruit has a diameter of around 1/2 inch.
