Peltophorum pterocarpum

Peltophorum pterocarpum also known as Yellow Poinciana, Yellow Flame Tree, Copper-Pod, Yellow Flamboyant Tree this is a rapidly growing tree, broad and free to branch, with rust-red-down stem. Big, 2-pinnate deep green leaves consist of 8-20 pairs of elliptical-oblong 2 cm long leaflets. In summer, it presents ascending racemes up to 45 centimetres long, scented, brightly yellow flowers 4 centimetres in size, with obovate petals, each with a centrally red brown mark.   Seed pod are purple-brown and 8 to 10cm long which are elliptic to oblong.
