Terminalia Catappas also referred to as the indian almond tree are thick, branching, deciduous tree, branches of young plant forming horizontal whorls, broad-based obovate, luscious, deep green leaves, 25 cm long, borne in branch-like clusters, turn red before dropping. Petalless flowers have white calyxes, with tubes up to 1 cm long, borne in axillary spikes, up to 16 centimeters long, in summer; followed by narrow-winged, ellipsoid, red, yellow or green fruit, 5-7 cm long, with edible tasty seeds.
