Description Wrightia religiosa ( Water Jasmine, Wild Water Plum) is among the most stunning, refreshing and useful plants amongst all tropical fragrants. A very aromatic, beautiful shrub, fruity, flowers are founded along its branches. The Flower’s foilage is thin and bit hairy and can grow almost all year round, simple pruning to shape and scale. It is cultivated in and around temples and residences for its impressive fragrance. Prefers soil well drained, partial to full sun. A truly outstanding location! In temples and houses it’s always been a common ornamental tree. It is undoubtedly the best plant in Thailand and can be seen all over the streets planted as a flower, a hedge, or potted in the garden. Among Buddhists, this bush is sacred. The fruit is coupled with pods, 9 large. Wrightia is easy to maintain and requires minimal control but only regular watering. Wrightia is cold-sensitive and miserable under 65F; in winter in colder areas it looks ugly (hardy to zone 9). It remains evergreen in warm subtropical and tropical climates and flourishes year round. Wrightia can be raised as a bonsai tree within a short span of time because of its quick growth rate. It can be conditioned and wired quickly into odd and natural shapes. Known historically as a plant. Skin disease is healed by roots. There are several varieties and wrightia cultivars.
